Manakish from the oven.
Za'atar, kishik and akkawi manakish straight from the oven. Foul and balila, fattet hommus, awarma with eggs, and a tray combo that covers the whole table, all while the Corniche is still quiet.
Lebanese comfort food from eight in the morning to one at night. Manakish from the oven, mezze and grills, knefeh and coffee, with the Manara and the sea outside the window.
Open every day, 8 AM – 1 AM
Under the arches
on Avenue de Paris, Ras Beirut sits down to eat. Manakish at eight
grills at lunch, the sea at sunset
and knefeh
while the Corniche lights up.
Comfort food. A relaxed table. The Manara outside the window.
Before the manakish, before the grills, before the knefeh, there’s the first cup.
Pulled slow,
poured gold.
However Beirut
takes it.
Then the kitchen
wakes up.
Za'atar, kishik and akkawi manakish straight from the oven. Foul and balila, fattet hommus, awarma with eggs, and a tray combo that covers the whole table, all while the Corniche is still quiet.
At one the sesame kaak comes out, filled with akkawi, labneh or picon. Then the long table: hommus Beiruty, kibbet Kahwatna with walnuts, kaftet karaz in cherry sauce, and a mixed grill to share.
The hour everyone asks for a window seat. Order a Ras Beirut cocktail of passion fruit, orange and strawberry, or a minted lemonade, and watch the sun go down behind the palms.
Warm knefeh, osmaliyeh with ashta, aish el saraya and a Turkish coffee to finish, under the chandeliers with the Corniche lit up outside. The kitchen keeps going until one.
The oven's on, the coffee's poured, and there's a window table with your name on it. See you at sunset.— Kahwat Ras Beirut
